Create Your Own Sanctuary Style
There’s just something magical about stepping foot into your home after a long, hard day of work. For at least a moment, you don’t have to worry about all of the stressors that present themselves outside of your walls. After all, you make your house a home for a reason, right? Between the decor and design elements to the way it even smells, it’s reflective of you and what makes you happy. There’s one spot in your home specifically though that deserves a little extra TLC; your bedroom.
Does your bedroom make you feel relaxed? Does it feel like an escape? If not, here are a few things that you can consider that will help you create a space that is both unique to you and trendy. Military wives, your inner interior designer is going to love this stuff!
Consider the following:
Colors:
If you are looking for something calming yet sophisticated consider the color Sage Green. This color also pairs nicely with creams, pastels, and pales which can be accentuated through throw pillows, curtains, and more.
If you are looking for a way to make your space feel larger, however, keeping it simple with the color white is suggested.
Bed Frame:
If you’re looking to add a sense of elegance, you can’t go wrong with a canopy frame.
Hint: White bedding will add a nice contrast to a canopy frame
Natural Materials:
Being Environmentally Friendly is something that is top of mind these days and many are opting to use natural materials and incorporating things like living plants, wood, and stone into their living spaces.
There is a new material that seems to be topping the charts with those that like to take a more eco-friendly approach to their living spaces as well and that is heat-treated wood which will undoubtedly add a little style to your room.
Loft-Style:
If your goal is to have lots of natural light and open space, a loft-style room is recommended. With this one, your colors are going to be more “cool” with Grays, blacks, and whites.
High Tech:
As a more modern approach, this style consists of shiny, metallic surfaces and the use of lines. Colors will be similar to that of the loft-style, but it’s also recommended to throw a few greens, yellows, and reds in the mix for your furniture pieces.
Wallpaper:
Yep, it’s back! The use of wallpaper seemed to fall off for a moment in time but it is quickly regaining speed in the world of home decor. If you have a room that lacks visuals or graphics, wallpaper is a great solution. The wonderful part about it is that it comes in many styles so you can choose yours to represent elegance, vibrance, and really anything you’d like!
If you are a Military family that has already found their new home or you are still looking, hopefully some of these trends are exciting and can resonate with you! For many, this is one of the fun parts that go along with being a homeowner. So, how will you spruce up your living space?
