Here is a really fun craft that you and the family can do together this Easter using real eggs! 

Here is a list of what you will need:

• Eggs (enough to cover your mantel or wherever you will be hanging your garland)

• Push pin

• Toothpick

• Straw

• A bowl

• Twine or ribbon

• Egg dye kit or paint

Before we get to the fun decorating part, we first have to blow out our eggs. 

How to blow out an egg

The first thing you’ll need to do is blow out your eggs. To do this, use your push pin to poke a hole on both ends of the egg, then use the pin to widen your hole until it’s big enough for your twine or ribbon to go through. 

Then, take your toothpick and push it through one of the holes and swirl it around to break up the yolk inside the egg. Once you have done that, it’s time to blow out your egg! Take your straw and an empty bowl, put the straw over one of the holes, and start blowing! 

After you have blown out all of your eggs, rinse them out and put them in the oven at 200 degrees for about 15 minutes. 

Decorate your egg garland

Once your eggs are cooled, you can either use a traditional easter egg dye kit or some acrylic paint to decorate your eggs.

The next step is to string your eggs together on your twine or ribbon. You can make this as simple or as fancy as you like with bows, beads, or tassels.
