How fun is this going to be! 

Who doesn't need a new door hanger for Spring? And not just any “same ol same” door hanger, but something new and different than all the neighbors. First things first, here’s the list of things you'll need. A pair of boots, possibly spray paint, sturdy rope/ribbon, flowers, 2 foam floral cubes, and a heavy-duty hook/door hanger hook. 

Let's get started! Look around the house to see if you have any old rain boots. Maybe your kid’s boots from last year are too small and instead of throwing them out, let's repurpose them. No old boots? That’s okay, it’s Spring time and I'm sure just about every store you go to will have some for you to pick up. Now, this is where the spray paint may come in. If your boots are not the color you hoped for, grab yourself a handy-dandy can of spray paint. 

Once your boot color is picked out, let’s move on to the fake flower section. In my personal opinion, I would pick my flowers first, then my boot color, then my ribbon color. But one of the joys of doing a DIY, is you get to modify things the way YOU like. So, while you are at the flower section don't forget you have 2 boots and need 2 bundles of flowers. Before you leave the flower section, remember to grab 2 floral foam cubes (this item is optional).

Now let's get your ribbon. SO MANY OPTIONS! To help narrow it down a little, it has to be thick enough and sturdy enough to hold up your boots.

The last item to grab will be a hook of some sort and again it has to be sturdy.

TIME TO PUT IT ALL TOGETHER!

1. One coat of paint on the boots, let it dry, and give a second coat if needed.

2. Grab scissors or a knife and cut a hole on the side of the boot that will be against the door, for your ribbon (feel free to use the handle on your boot if your boot has it)

3. Next, you'll want to shove a floral cube to the bottom of each boot.

4. Then, rearrange your flowers the way you want them to look while sitting in the boots.

5. Start pushing those stems into the cubes until your boots are full.

6. Hang the hook on your door and place your NEW, beautiful DIY door hanger up for Spring.
