Easter is just around the corner! A time of fun, celebration, and over-indulging in candy. This year, let's get creative with your decor and celebrations. Update some of your Easter decor with something fun and new.  Come along and make a colorful banner with me to help make your place feel a little more festive.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

8-10 color swatches for your carrots, about 5 green color swatches for carrot sprouts, 8-10 color swatches for your eggs, string, scissors, tape/hot glue gun/hole punch.

First, visit your nearest hardware store and check out all the paint swatches. Find your desired color scheme and grab enough to make the number of eggs and carrots you want on your banner. 

For your carrots, you will have 2 pieces, the carrot and the little green sprout on top. Pick out the colors you want for your carrots and cut long triangles out of the middle. Pick out the greens you want for your sprouts and cut out little triangles. Once you have all your carrots and sprouts cut out, tape them together to look like the picture above. 

Set your carrots aside and start grabbing the colors for your eggs. Easy enough, for your eggs, all you need to do is cut wide ovals in the center of the color swatch. If you do not feel confident in cutting out an egg shape, (like me) feel free to trace an oval on your swatch first. 

Once you have your carrots and eggs all cut out, grab your string. Cut your string to the length you want your banner to be, then start placing your carrots and eggs. For placement, I recommend laying it out before assembling the banner to ensure you have the color where you want them and the pattern you like most.

To adhere the carrots and eggs to the string you can use tape, you could punch holes to weave the string through, or use a hot glue gun. Once your banner is finally pieced together, hang it up and enjoy your cute new DIY Easter Home Decor!
