🏡 Mortgage & Housing Support
If you’re in jeopardy of falling behind on your mortgage due to loss of pay, contact your lender ASAP and ask for the Hardship or Loss Mitigation Department before you miss a payment.

• Many lenders can offer temporary relief or forbearance if you reach out early.

• If your mortgage rate is in the mid-6s or higher, consider a VA IRRRL refinance to lower your rate and potentially skip a payment.

• If your current rate is mid-5s or below, refinancing may not be the best option right now — instead, ask your lender’s team for short-term assistance options.
