Being cooped up inside can make you go stir crazy (especially if you have kids running around with all of that energy), which might be why this new trend is becoming so popular.

According to Redfin.com, floor-to-ceiling windows has been named one of their 8 major home design trends for 2021.  These large windows are a great way to create a space that feels refreshing and is completely on trend with indoor/outdoor living. You can have the feel of being outdoors without the heat and humidity that Texas summers are known for.

There are a few ways you can implement this window into your home based on the style you prefer. Maybe you want large windows but don't have that much space, in which case you could try the floor-to-ceiling windows with half-circle frames.  If you have high ceilings but hate the look of the square or geometric frame windows and want to switch it up a bit, you can also try the Cathedral Style windows.

It’s up to you what style you prefer but just like everything in life, there are always going to be pros and cons.  We learned that floor-to-ceiling windows are a great way to gain outdoor light exposure but another huge piece of it that would make these a great investment is the fact that whatever room you put them in will immediately become more spacious. If you’re keen on privacy, we would highly suggest you seek an alternative option unless you’re willing to cover them up with drapes or if you have an area of your house with a private view.  Another thing to consider is if you have small children it will mean an endless battle of cleaning fingerprints and smudges off of your expansive windows.

If you can get past those couple of considerations and are financially prepared, floor-to-ceiling windows are sure to be well worth it!
