Military families are expert transients and relocating every few years helps you learn to embrace a mobile lifestyle. This skill is most evident when it comes to personalizing the various styles of houses you may end up living in. Creating a comfortable home to suit your family's needs is a challenge, but completely doable. Whether you choose to live in military housing or an off-base rental, creating home decor without making permanent changes is a rite of passage for military life.

This house number planter is something cute and simple. This will add a pop of color to the entrance of your home. This piece is able to travel with you to every house you move to and it’s easy enough to just change out the numbers as you move. If you wanted, you could even change the color of the stain whenever you move to give yourself a whole new vibe.

DIY Doormat with the family name on it. There’s nothing more personal about home decor than the items YOU make with YOUR last name on them. It may not be a magical carpet ride or anything, but a personalized doormat definitely adds a bit of a warmer welcome for guests and friends.

Make (or buy) a piece of art for the master bedroom with a part of your wedding vows on it. You may think that corny, but it's a sweet and intimate piece of your unity that you will share forever. “HOME IS WHERE YOU ARE”. This may be a more difficult piece to DIY, but I believe it’s always worth the shot.

A DIY Blanket Ladder is easy, cute, and purposeful. You can use it in the bedrooms or living room for blanket storage OR you could use it in the bathroom for towel storage. Either way, you decide to use the ladder, it's a huge WIN to have one of these in the house. You can make it short or tall, narrow or wide, and whatever color works for your space. Very custom and if you need/want more than one, GO FOR IT.

Which one of these will you try?
