Be the “Hostess with the Mostest” at your 4th of July party this year with these fun and festive DIY crafts!

Let's dive into some exciting and detailed DIY Fourth of July home decor crafts that will make your home sparkle and shine!

Patriotic Mason Jar Lanterns

Supplies Needed:

- Mason jars (any size)

- Red, white, and blue acrylic paint

- Paintbrushes

- Painter’s tape

- Star stickers (optional)

- Tea light candles or battery-operated LED lights

- Twine or ribbon (optional)

Steps:

1. Prepare Your Jars: Start by cleaning your mason jars thoroughly and letting them dry completely.

2. Design Your Pattern: Use painter's tape to create stripes or place star stickers on the jars where you don’t want paint. This will give your jars a crisp, clean design.

3. Paint the Jars: Paint the exposed areas of the jars with red, white, and blue acrylic paint. You can paint the jars solid colors or create stripes for a classic patriotic look. Let the paint dry fully before moving to the next step.

4. Remove the Tape/Stickers: Carefully peel off the painter’s tape and star stickers to reveal your design.

5. Add Lights: Place tea light candles or battery-operated LED lights inside the jars.

6. Finishing Touches: Tie twine or ribbon around the top of the jars for an extra festive touch.

Star-Spangled Banner Garland

Supplies Needed:

- Red, white, and blue felt sheets

- Star-shaped cookie cutter

- Scissors

- Hot glue gun

- Twine or ribbon

- Glitter (optional)

Steps:

1. Cut Out Stars: Use the star-shaped cookie cutter as a template to trace and cut out stars from the red, white, and blue felt sheets. Aim for about 12-15 stars for a decent-length garland.

2. Decorate the Stars: If you want to add some sparkle, apply glitter to the stars using a thin layer of glue. Let them dry completely.

3. Attach Stars to Twine: Lay out your twine or ribbon and arrange the stars in a pattern you like. Use the hot glue gun to attach the stars to the twine, spacing them evenly.

4. Hang Your Garland: Once the glue is dry, hang your star-spangled banner garland across a mantel, window, or porch for a festive look.

Red, White, and Blue Paper Fans

Supplies Needed:

- Red, white, and blue construction paper

- Scissors

- Stapler

- Double-sided tape

- String (optional)

- Glue stick

Steps:

1. Create Fan Folds: Start by folding a sheet of construction paper accordion-style (back and forth in a fan-like pattern). Each fold should be about an inch wide.

2. Form the Fan: Once folded, fold the accordion in half to create a fan shape. Secure the center with a staple.

3. Assemble the Fan: Repeat the process with two more sheets of construction paper. Attach the three folded sheets together at the edges using double-sided tape or glue, forming a full circle.

4. Repeat with Colors: Create additional fans using red, white, and blue construction paper. Mix and match the colors for a vibrant display.

5. Add String: If you want to hang the fans, attach a piece of string to the back with tape or glue.

6. Display Your Fans: Arrange your paper fans on a wall or hang them around your home for a burst of patriotic color.

Patriotic Wreath

Supplies Needed:

- Foam wreath form

- Red, white, and blue fabric strips or ribbon

- Hot glue gun

- Artificial flowers (optional)

- Small American flag (optional)

Steps:

1. Wrap the Wreath: Start by cutting your fabric or ribbon into strips about 12 inches long. Wrap the strips around the foam wreath form, securing the ends with hot glue. Alternate colors to create a striped pattern.

2. Add Decorative Elements: If desired, use hot glue to attach artificial flowers to one side of the wreath for a decorative touch.

3. Attach the Flag: Glue a small American flag to the wreath form for added patriotism.

4. Hang Your Wreath: Once everything is dry and secure, hang your wreath on your front door to greet guests with festive flair.
